River Rafting in Rishikesh

Overview

River rafting or rafting or simply white water rafting is one of the most popular adventure sports which people tend to enjoy. The rafting always brings a testing and new experience to its participants.  Dealing with many risks and the teamwork is a part and parcel of this adventure sport..There are six grades of difficulty of river rafting also known as the international scale of river difficulty in white water rafting. These levels are decided on the basis of simple to very risky and serious injuries or potential death.

Rishikesh is a small town situated in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand in India. Apart from its religious significance, this place is also famous for its adventure sports. The Ganga River offers class 3 and class 4 rapids i.e. medium to rough grade here.  One can visit this place any time of the year but the best season for River rafting in Rishikesh is between February to March and August to October. 


Very Important River Rafting Tips:

As river rafting is an adventure sport, so everyone must take a note that the basic rules for river rafting must be followed in order to enjoy this extreme breathtaking ride safely.

·         No one should enter the river without wearing life jackets and without the information of guide.

·         Do not pollute the river by throwing plastic bags in it.

·         To follow proper timing while camping is very necessary. Everybody must follow the food timings.

·         Everybody must follow all the rules and regulations which the river rafting guide has informed you about during river rafting.

·         While doing river rafting the instructor will give you some important tips and commands about rafting from time to time. Please listen to it carefully and follow it.

·         Please don’t roam around and out of the camping site at night.

·         You must carry your luggage on your own as there will be no porter provided to carry your luggage.

·         Everybody must check for their helmets and life jackets properly before starting rafting. If you find any problem with these two things then inform your guide about it immediately. Without life jacket and helmet the river rafting can be dangerous.

·         If anyone feels unwell during the rafting session, they must not go for rafting and stay at the camps. They also should inform their guide about it.

·         Day 01: Arrival at Camp

·         Day 02 : River Rafting :- 28 Kms River Rafting (Marin Drive to NIM Beach/Ramjhula)

·         Day 03: Adventure Activities & Transfer to Beach Camp

·         Day 4: Departure


Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival at Camp

You will arrive at the camp on day one on your own as we do not provide any transport facility. On the first day you will get to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. You will do check in at 11 am. You will be welcomed with non alcoholic welcome drinks (Tea/ coffee/ Jaljeera). Tents will be allocated to you by the camp manager. You will be given time to acclimatize with the surroundings. You will be served lunch at 1 pm. You can do waterfall trekking if you wish with our guide. The trekking site is 4 kms away from the campsite. In the evening you will be served tea with delicious cookies. After sunset, you will get evening veg snacks alongside a bonfire. Dinner will be served at 9 pm.

Day 02 : River Rafting :- 28 Kms River Rafting (Marin Drive to NIM Beach/Ramjhula)

On the second day, you will have tea early in the morning. You will be served breakfast at 9 am. Post breakfast you can enjoy sports like badminton, cricket and volleyball. Lunch will be served at 1 pm. Post lunch you will go for river rafting in Ganga River. The instructor will give you short training about river rafting. You will be provided all the safety gear like helmet and life jacket. After this you will do the River rafting of 28 KMs from Marine drive to NIM Beach/ Ramjhula. You will hit some enjoyable rapids like Three Blind Mice, Crossfire, Welcome Shivpuri, Return to Sender, Roller Coaster, Golf Course, Initiation, Double Trouble, Hilton etc. Your guide will brief you about safety techniques of rafting. You can enjoy cliff jumping and body surfing as well.  After getting the thrilling experience of River Rafting, you will get to relax for the day and enjoy at the camp. Evening tea will be served followed by evening veg snacks along with the bonfire followed by dinner at 9 pm.

Day 03: Adventure Activities & Transfer to Beach Camp

On the third day, you will get to enjoy the adventure activities which we have included in our package. You will be served breakfast at 9 am. Post breakfast you will proceed for rappelling and rock climbing. After having lunch, you can enjoy Kayaking, volleyball and body surfing at the beach camp. Like last two days, you will get veg snacks after sunset along with bonfire. You will have dinner at 9 pm. 

Day 4: Departure

The fourth day will be last day of your River Rafting and camping adventure. You will be served morning tea and breakfast at 9 am. After having breakfast, you will check out from camps and depart for your home town with fresh mind and full of beautiful memories.


Instructions and Guidelines

  • Always travel light as you have to carry your own luggage. Walking to camp is downhill which is easy but on your way back it is uphill and heavy luggage can be difficult to carry.
  • Do not consume alcohol or any drugs while on a raft trip or before 6 hours of rafting. We refuse intoxicated persons without any refund of charges.
  • Always follow each and every instruction given by the guide for your own safety.

 

Essential Info

Things to carry:

  • T-shirts – for raft & camp
  • Shorts (quick drying for raft)
  • clothes for camp
  • Jersey/warm jacket for camp in winter
  • Footwear-2 pairs (one each for raft and camp). Sandals with soft soles will suffice if they are well fastened.
  • Toiletries/towel/soap etc. for personal use
  • Flashlight / torch– mandatory
  • Sunshade/cap
  • Sunscreen lotion
  • Sunglasses
  • Cord for spectacles & sunglasses
  • Swimsuits/trunks
  • Personal medication (if any)
  • Sleeping bag/blanket – (optional), we provide quilts
  • Camera (optional)
